John Fahy is an economist by training and the Managing Director of ERAS energy consultants who developed the emPower energy modelling platform. He has over 20 years’ experience in the energy sectors as an investment banker, analyst, project director, industry consultant and public policy advisor. He specialises in are market deregulation, investment strategy, financial modelling, contract pricing and asset valuation. He has undertaken numerous gas and power projects worldwide for all of the major oil, gas & power companies.

Workshop B: The Legal Framework of Doing Business in Libya
Led by Abdulmagid Mayet, Senior Partner, Mayet & Associates
Abdulmagid Mayet has been in the legal profession for more than 50 years. He has served as a judge before Tripoli and Libyan courts and as a lawyer before the Supreme Court. Mr Mayet works on behalf of various Libyan organisations and the Libyan government as well as large reputable international companies. Notable cases include Legal Counsel to the Coastal States Company in the lawsuit filed by Bunker Hunt vs. Coastal States Co., in Houston, Texas, 1979-1983. Mr Mayet is currently the Legal Consultant for the American Embassy in Libya, Member of the Tripoli Planning Commission and is also the Chairman of the Legal Committee at the Libyan Businessmen Council.
