The First Libyan Gas Summit Outside of Libya for 12 Years
The inaugural Libya Gas Summit took place from the 28th-30th of June 2010 at the Westin Excelsior Hotel in Rome with the official support of the National Oil Corporation Libya lead by H.E. Dr Shokri Ghanem.

Bringing together Senior representatives from The National Oil Corporation in Libya, Libyan affiliate companies, International Oil Companies, Service Providers and experts from Libya and internationally, the Libya Gas summit delivered real insight into the challenges and opportunities for Libya, an update on the global gas situation, a rare view of emerging technological and commercial practices and dynamic discussions surrounding the real possibilities for gas monetization and integration across the value chain.
The National Oil Corporation delegation was led by H.E. Dr Shokri Ghanem, Chairman of the National Oil Corporation, Libya who delivered a frank and insightful address to the international delegation, examining the opportunities and challenges of Libyan and gas and highlighting the importance of Transparency and Competition.
Delegates were able to hear first-hand from senior NOC Libyan members who addressed the state of Libyan Gas demand and supply as well as domestic versus export.
Further, delegates were able to listen to very senior representatives from the national oil companies and international organisations presenting their vision and highlighting their role in helping develop the Libyan Gas Industry.
Networking was also a great feature of the Summit with delegates being treated to a five star Gala dinner at the Grand St Regis to the sound of highly respected local classical talent, focused round table discussions, hosted lunches and coffee breaks.
We look forward to welcoming delegates to Libya Gas 2011.
